Philosophy
Christchurch Endodontic Practice is a specialist dental practice assessing and treating people referred by their dentist for problems of, or arising from, the inside (endo) of teeth (dontics).
We aim to provide the very best care and treatment that is available for all the patients referred to us.
Many people are concerned that treatment may be painful or uncomfortable but we work very hard to take the unpleasantness out of any treatment we provide.
We have three fully equipped surgeries including, operating microscopes, ulrasonic units and tips, fibre optic light systems, electronic apex locators and much more.
Implant surgery equipment and hardware is used from the nobelbiocare company. (www.nobelbiocare.se)
Infection control is taken very seriously. All instruments used in the mouth are thoroughly cleaned and then autoclaved, or if this is not possible (plastic parts) soaked in a hypochlorite sterilising solution. Instruments and handpieces are bagged before autoclaving to keep them sterile until they are used.
Monthly meetings between the endodontists are held to discuss clinical cases, keep abreast of international trends and advances, and to discuss journal articles of interest.
A range of six international referred journals are read by the endodontists and at least one international meeting is attended by each endodontist a year.
All the endodontists have been asked to lecture at national level and local dental meetings to speak on endodontic topics.
New techniques and materials are constantly being developed but the Christchurch Endodontic Practice will only use these if they are proven to be safe and are better than the current techniques/materials being used.
